At JJMDRN our mission is to offer top-notch specialized jiu jitsu instruction in a setting that welcomes the beginner as well as the seasoned practitioner. Our community is diverse and spans ages and backgrounds with a common goal of practicing jiu jitsu for self defense, health & sport. We ensure a safe, fun and casual environment.
Each week we focus on one jiu jitsu position building our depth of knowledge and understanding in the position as the week progresses.

Meet Our Instructors
First Responders
JIU JITSU MODERN has active FIRST RESPONDERS trained and tested on how to teach Jiu Jitsu tactics to de-escalate situations and when necessary subdue civilians in a nonviolent way and with control. Helping ensure the safety of officers and civilians. A FIRST RESPONDER trained in jiu jitsu tactics develops inner confidence and calmness in difficult situations.
JIU JITSU MODERN students who are active officers have access to a 2 hour class each week in specific policing tactics. Taught by officers for officers.
FAQ’s
Each class is one hour long. It will start with a movement drill to warm up the body. There will be 2 techniques taught. You will practice them with a partner with light resistance. Short break then you will train with resistance with your partner from this week’s position. The rest of the rounds will be with new partners till the end of class. Short cool down. End of class.
Absolutely not. Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. The mats are filled with people of all ages.
Training Jiu Jitsu will get you into shape…and fast. Bonus! its way more fun than being on a treadmill and you will develop a skill that could possible help you or a loved one.
